These ski areas are ahead of the game.
In addition to parts of the West getting pounded with snow last week, these ski areas saw temperatures low enough to fire up the snow guns and officially say, “Winter has arrived.” Mark your calendars and scrape off that summer wax because opening days are coming sooner than expected and fall will be quickly stepping aside for winter…a transition I think we can all stand behind. Then there are those not-so-secret backcountry spots (we’re looking at you, Montana) that got up to 50 inches of snow. Here’s the quick and dirty list of areas who have guns ablazing.
