Pale Blue rechargeable batteries

There’s a new type of rechargeable battery coming our way – Pale Blue rechargeable batteries. Rather than loading the batteries into a special device to recharge, the recharging circuitry is integrated into the battery itself. Just connect a USB-to-micro cable to the battery. LED lights on the case will blink green when charging, or stay green when fully charged.

Functional and E-friendly

The batteries come in formats that are popular among portable devices, AA, AAA, C, D, and 9V cases are available. At $30 for a four-pack of AA, or AAA’s it sounds pricy, but when you consider they are good for 1000 charges that’s a whole lot of batteries that won’t be cluttering up the environment. Compared to the cost of buying new batteries it’s a no-brainer to get at least one 4-pack. What makes it compelling is the absence of a separate charger; I mean you probably already have a spare USB-micro cable floating around, right? Even so, you’ll probably want to use the 1-to-4 cable that comes with the four-pack.

Charge an entire 4-pack at the same time with a “single” USB-Micro cord(s).

Fast charging, Long lasting

According to Pale Blue it only takes 2 hours for these Li-ion batteries to become fully charged. By comparison, Ni-MH batteries can take up to 9 hours. I can assure you, Ni-MH don’t last nearly as long as it takes to be charged up, and while Li-ion might not last a full two hours, they’ll last 50% longer than Ni-MH, and 40% longer than alkaline batteries.
