| Wanted: Tele Rail Slayers |

I know there are a lot of you out there. You know who you are; devout freeheelers who spend as much time sliding sideways on metal as you do sliding forwards on snow. It’s time to get out there and show everyone how to crush some rails with half a binding. This winter, if you are in Utah on a Friday night, there will be a great venue for you to do your best Dylan Garner impression. Check out this link to see what I’m talking about HERE. Brighton, Park City and Snowbasin Resorts are teaming up to offer The Friday Night Jib Fight (FNJF) rail jam series. The series will consist of ten rail jams — on Friday nights — over the course of the 2011-2012 winter season. The series is a result of the success Park City Mountain Resort and Snowbasin had in offering independent rail jams last season. Said Park City Mountain Resort Terrain Park Manager Jared Winkler, “Rather than compete against each other, we decided to join forces and take the series to the next level.”
By teaming up to host events at three locations, organizers are offering rail jams that are easy to get to no matter where you are in Northern Utah: Park City, the Wasatch Front or the Northern Wasatch. If you are in Utah, one of these events is bound to be nearby, so there is no excuse not to get out there and strut your stuff. And it’s about time some telemark skiers made their mark in the rail jams. Said Park City’s Senior Marketing Manager Meisha Lawson, “We’d love to have telemark skiers join the skier division in the Friday Night Jib Fight Series. All three resorts involved are committed to seeing terrain park riding continue to evolve and would be psyched to see telemark skiers be a part of the event series.”
Events cost $15 to enter and will have amateur divisions competing for prizes as well as pro divisions competing for cash. The rail jams will feature similar terrain layouts, but the terrain park crews from each mountain will add their own twists. The FNRJ series begins at Snowbasin on December 16, 2011, and it concludes on March 30, 2012 at Park City. Each mountain will host three events throughout the season.
So here’s the deal: Utah is centralized in the West and is easy to get to, there are rail jams all over Utah’s Wasatch Mountains and you like rails. You should really be a part of this series. It’s a chance to have fun and try to win some prizes while you show those alpiners and snowboarders that telemark skiers have some style too.
